Autoridades ambientales reportan un incremento significativo en el n\u00famero de aseguramientos de nidos de tortugas marinas que llegan a las costas de Yucat\u00e1n para depositar sus huevos. La Secretaria de Desarrollo Sustentable (SDS), Sayda Rodr\u00edguez G\u00f3mez, se\u00f1al\u00f3 que la temporada de anidaci\u00f3n de tortugas, que comenz\u00f3 en abril y finaliza este mes, ha sido testigo de una destacada participaci\u00f3n ciudadana.<\/p>\n

Rodr\u00edguez G\u00f3mez enfatiz\u00f3 que no solo se ha observado un aumento en el n\u00famero de cr\u00edas y nidos, sino tambi\u00e9n en la cantidad de voluntarios que han colaborado en esta ocasi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Incremento del 20%<\/h3>\n

Resalt\u00f3 que se ha registrado un incremento del 20% en los reportes de nidos con respecto al a\u00f1o anterior, cuando se aseguraron m\u00e1s de 2 mil nidos tanto en las playas como en los cinco campamentos tortugueros.<\/p>\n

Este aumento en los aseguramientos ha posibilitado la liberaci\u00f3n al mar de entre 216 mil y 280 mil tortugas marinas tras la eclosi\u00f3n, considerando que cada nido contiene de 90 a 120 huevos.<\/p>\n

Reportes ciudadanos<\/h3>\n

Adem\u00e1s, se destac\u00f3 el papel fundamental de la participaci\u00f3n ciudadana en la notificaci\u00f3n de avistamientos de tortugas en las playas.<\/p>\n

La SDS busca fomentar la protecci\u00f3n in situ de las tortugas y reconoce el compromiso de la ciudadan\u00eda en marcar y reportar nidos, as\u00ed como en seguir de cerca el proceso de eclosi\u00f3n de las tortugas durante los 60 d\u00edas necesarios.<\/p>\n

Perros salvajes atacan tortugas<\/h3>\n

Durante esta temporada de anidaci\u00f3n de tortugas marinas, desafortunadamente, se inform\u00f3 que perros ferales atacaron y causaron la muerte de al menos 3 tortugas en las playas de Telchac Puerto.<\/p>\n

En diciembre del 2022, la Semarnat decret\u00f3 17 playas de anidaci\u00f3n de tortugas marinas como \u00c1reas Naturales Protegidas con la categor\u00eda de Santuarios, entre las que se encuentra Yucat\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

De acuerdo al decre<\/a>to, se realizaron los ajustes necesarios a los pol\u00edgonos que conformar\u00e1n estas nuevas \u00e1reas naturales protegidas y que incluir\u00e1n superficies de anidaci\u00f3n que no contaban con protecci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como zonas en buen estado para el desarrollo y conservaci\u00f3n de estos quelonios.<\/p>\n

Dichos santuarios se encuentran en los estados de Chiapas, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoac\u00e1n de Ocampo, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas y Yucat\u00e1n y contar\u00e1n con un total de 6,637 hect\u00e1reas ( seis mil seiscientas treinta y siete hect\u00e1reas).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
