{"id":120389,"date":"2025-03-22T19:28:32","date_gmt":"2025-03-23T01:28:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/?p=120389"},"modified":"2025-03-23T12:29:13","modified_gmt":"2025-03-23T18:29:13","slug":"investigadoras-presentan-proyecto-para-proteccion-de-cenotes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/investigadoras-presentan-proyecto-para-proteccion-de-cenotes\/","title":{"rendered":"Investigadoras presentan proyecto para protecci\u00f3n de cenotes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Yucat\u00e1n (UADY) recibi\u00f3 la visita de la secretaria de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT), Alicia B\u00e1rcena Ibarra, a quien se le present\u00f3 el proyecto \u201cEstrategia integral para el saneamiento y protecci\u00f3n de los cenotes en Yucat\u00e1n\u201d, desarrollado por las docentes-investigadoras de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/face.uady\">Facultad de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica<\/a>, Diana Caba\u00f1as Vargas y Mariana Mart\u00edn L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n<h3>Agua subterr\u00e1nea<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Durante la exposici\u00f3n, las investigadoras destacaron que el agua subterr\u00e1nea es la principal fuente de abastecimiento en Yucat\u00e1n. Sin embargo, debido a la naturaleza calc\u00e1rea del suelo, el agua se filtra r\u00e1pidamente a trav\u00e9s de fracturas y fisuras, lo que la hace altamente vulnerable a la contaminaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEstamos en una zona privilegiada por la disponibilidad de agua, pero las caracter\u00edsticas del suelo hacen que se contamine f\u00e1cilmente. Los cenotes son puertas abiertas que conectan directamente a los pobladores con los cuerpos de agua subterr\u00e1nea\u201d, se\u00f1alaron.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Se estima que en Yucat\u00e1n existen entre 7,000 y 8,000 cenotes, aunque hasta la fecha la Secretar\u00eda de Desarrollo Sustentable ha registrado solo alrededor de 3,000.<\/p>\n<h3>Urgencia de sanear cenotes contaminados<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ante este panorama, las acad\u00e9micas subrayaron la urgente necesidad de sanear los cenotes contaminados y, al mismo tiempo, impulsar acciones y pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas que aseguren su conservaci\u00f3n a largo plazo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El proyecto presentado propone un enfoque estructurado en cinco fases: Identificaci\u00f3n de los cenotes a intervenir; caracterizaci\u00f3n de los cuerpos de agua seleccionados; detecci\u00f3n de fuentes potenciales de contaminaci\u00f3n; trabajo comunitario, involucrando a pobladores y sectores industriales; y monitoreo continuo para prevenir la recontaminaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cUn programa de saneamiento no termina cuando un cenote se ha limpiado. Es esencial mantener un monitoreo sistem\u00e1tico que permita detectar riesgos a tiempo y establecer medidas de prevenci\u00f3n\u201d, enfatizaron.<\/p>\n<h3>Normativas<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Asimismo, subrayaron que es fundamental establecer lineamientos claros para las actividades que afecten la calidad del agua en los cenotes. Destacaron la necesidad de establecer normativas que regulen estas actividades, y se fomenten buenas practicas y se garantice la protecci\u00f3n de los cenotes a largo plazo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Al cierre del evento, el rector de la UADY, Carlos Alberto Estrada Pinto, resalt\u00f3 el papel fundamental del trabajo acad\u00e9mico en la Universidad y reiter\u00f3 el compromiso institucional con la innovaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo de proyectos de impacto social y ambiental.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cEstas iniciativas no solo buscan preservar los cenotes mediante un diagn\u00f3stico preciso y acciones de saneamiento, sino que tambi\u00e9n generan conocimiento para el dise\u00f1o de pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas que garanticen su
