Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) en Yucat\u00e1n orienta sobre los servicios y acciones de prevenci\u00f3n y cuidado de la salud bucal, como obturaciones, extracciones, eliminaci\u00f3n de sarro, y drenado de absceso dental, as\u00ed como detecci\u00f3n de placa dentobacteriana, aplicaci\u00f3n t\u00f3pica de fluoruro, ense\u00f1anza de la t\u00e9cnica de cepillado dental y del uso de hilo dental, para\u00a0 evitar enfermedades u otras complicaciones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">El coordinador de Estomatolog\u00eda, doctor Manuel Chan Montejo, indic\u00f3 que conservar una buena salud bucal tiene m\u00faltiples beneficios, pues adem\u00e1s de lucir una sonrisa agradable y una dentadura completa, ayuda a una buena masticaci\u00f3n y degluci\u00f3n, que constituyen el inicio de la digesti\u00f3n; adem\u00e1s de que se evitan afecciones como caries, gingivitis (inflamaci\u00f3n en las enc\u00edas) o halitosis (mal aliento), entre otras que podr\u00edan ocasionar\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">infecciones dentales graves y\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">la p\u00e9rdida de dientes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">En ese sentido, el IMSS en Yucat\u00e1n pone a disposici\u00f3n de su poblaci\u00f3n derechohabiente el \u00e1rea de Estomatolog\u00eda,\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">de lunes a viernes, de 8:00 a 20:00 horas,<\/span><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">\u00a0en donde se cuenta con especialistas capacitados para brindar diagn\u00f3sticos y\u00a0tratamientos de lesiones o padecimientos en la boca, labios, lengua, dientes, enc\u00edas, mejillas, paladar, gl\u00e1ndulas salivales, maxilares y otras partes que forman\u00a0<\/span>la cavidad bucal<span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-127972\" src=\"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/salud-bucodental.avif\" alt=\"IMSS Yucat\u00e1n fortalece prevenci\u00f3n y atenci\u00f3n en salud bucal\" width=\"600\" height=\"659\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adem\u00e1s, el personal de este servicio tambi\u00e9n otorga cepillos dentales y pastillas reveladoras de placa dentobacteriana con la finalidad de prevenir caries y muchas otras enfermedades que pueden afectar la cavidad bucal y orienta sobre las medidas preventivas, t\u00e9cnica de cepillado, uso del hilo dental, detecci\u00f3n y control de placa dentobacteriana y aplicaci\u00f3n t\u00f3pica de fl\u00faor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">De igual forma, el Instituto cuenta con atenci\u00f3n de urgencias,\u00a0para casos de gravedad como, por ejemplo: en caso de fracturas de \u00f3rganos dentarios debido a un golpe, as\u00ed como sangrado o dolor severo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Para las citas de Estomatolog\u00eda se puede acudir directamente con la asistente de estos consultorios o tambi\u00e9n puede ser mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n IMSS Digital, disponible tanto para IOS como Android, y solo se requiere CURP y correo electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Las principales recomendaciones son:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cepillar los dientes tres veces al d\u00eda y durante dos minutos.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cambiar el cepillo de dientes cada 3 meses, pues es necesario mantener las cerdas firmes y libres de bacterias.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Usar hilo dental al menos una vez al d\u00eda, de preferencia por las noches.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Utilizar enjuague bucal para eliminar bacterias que se acumulan en la boca.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Evitar comer alimentos y bebidas con alto contenido de az\u00facar, pues este ingrediente es el principal aliado de la aparici\u00f3n de lesiones cariosas.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eliminar o reducir el consumo de tabaco; las enc\u00edas de los fumadores son m\u00e1s susceptibles a infecciones, el tabaco causa falta de ox\u00edgeno en el torrente sangu\u00edneo, que reduce el flujo de sangre y nutrientes hac\u00eda las enc\u00edas.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Acudir con el estomat\u00f3logo (dentista) m\u00ednimo dos veces al a\u00f1o, aunque no se tenga dolor; ya que lo m\u00e1s importante es prevenir.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Beber agua constantemente para prevenir una resequedad bucal, y evitar el mal aliento.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">El\u00a0<span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">coordinador de Estomatolog\u00eda<\/span><span lang=\"ES-TRAD\">\u00a0<\/span>asegur\u00f3 que, la salud bucal refleja el estado general de nuestra salud y se\u00f1al\u00f3 que el IMSS en Yucat\u00e1n constantemente promueve una cultura de prevenci\u00f3n mediante la labor que ofrecen las y los especialistas en Unidades M\u00e9dicas y Hospitales, a trav\u00e9s de los M\u00f3dulos
