El productor y director Gerardo Herrero<\/strong> recibi\u00f3 el cuarto Premio El\u00edas Querejeta de la Academia de Cine de Espa\u00f1a<\/strong> durante el Festival de San Sebasti\u00e1n<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, donde tambi\u00e9n plante\u00f3 la necesidad de impulsar una mayor ambici\u00f3n art\u00edstica dentro del audiovisual espa\u00f1ol.<\/p>\n

Durante la ceremonia, Herrero afirm\u00f3 que el sector cuenta actualmente con actores, actrices, t\u00e9cnicos y empresas con mayor preparaci\u00f3n y capacidad, pero consider\u00f3 que todav\u00eda existe margen para desarrollar pel\u00edculas y series con mayor potencial econ\u00f3mico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNuestros actores y actrices cada d\u00eda son mejores int\u00e9rpretes, nuestros t\u00e9cnicos est\u00e1n m\u00e1s preparados, nuestras empresas son m\u00e1s eficaces, pero creo que nos falta ambici\u00f3n art\u00edstica\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Una trayectoria ligada al cine internacional<\/strong><\/h3>\n

El presidente de la Academia de Cine, Fernando M\u00e9ndez-Leite<\/strong>, entreg\u00f3 el reconocimiento a Herrero, fundador de Tornasol<\/strong>, cuya carrera ha estado vinculada con la internacionalizaci\u00f3n del cine espa\u00f1ol y la cooperaci\u00f3n con cinematograf\u00edas latinoamericanas.<\/p>\n

A lo largo de m\u00e1s de cuatro d\u00e9cadas, Herrero ha respaldado 181 pel\u00edculas<\/strong>: 71 producciones espa\u00f1olas, 63 coproducciones con Latinoam\u00e9rica y 49 con Europa. Tambi\u00e9n ha impulsado la trayectoria de 36 cineastas noveles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Entre sus trabajos relacionados con el cine argentino se encuentran \u201cEl secreto de sus ojos\u201d<\/strong> y \u201cEl hijo de la novia\u201d<\/strong>, ambas dirigidas por Juan Jos\u00e9 Campanella, adem\u00e1s de \u201cMart\u00edn (Hache)\u201d<\/strong>, de Adolfo Aristarain.<\/p>\n

Su filmograf\u00eda tambi\u00e9n incluye t\u00edtulos como \u201cGuantanamera\u201d<\/strong>, de Tom\u00e1s Guti\u00e9rrez Alea y Juan Carlos Tab\u00edo; \u201cTierra y libertad\u201d<\/strong>, de Ken Loach; \u201cLa camarera del Titanic\u201d, de Bigas Luna; \u201cSin noticias de Dios\u201d, de Agust\u00edn D\u00edaz Yanes, y \u201cEn la ciudad\u201d, de Cesc Gay.<\/p>\n

A estos trabajos se suman \u201cBalada triste de trompeta\u201d<\/strong>, de \u00c1lex de la Iglesia; \u201c15 a\u00f1os y un d\u00eda\u201d, de Gracia Querejeta; \u201cEl hombre que mat\u00f3 a Don Quijote\u201d, de Terry Gilliam, y \u201cEl reino\u201d<\/strong>, de Rodrigo Sorogoyen.<\/p>\n

El productor como parte del proceso creativo<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Durante su discurso, Herrero destac\u00f3 la relaci\u00f3n entre escritura, producci\u00f3n y direcci\u00f3n para concretar una pel\u00edcula.<\/p>\n

\u201cPara que una pel\u00edcula salga bien, debe tener un tri\u00e1ngulo creativo con un buen guionista, un buen productor y un buen director\u201d, afirm\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Su trayectoria tambi\u00e9n incluye participaci\u00f3n en instituciones cinematogr\u00e1ficas. Fue presidente de FAPAE<\/strong>, secretario general de FIPCA<\/strong>, vicepresidente y presidente de la Academia de Cine, adem\u00e1s de participar en la creaci\u00f3n del programa Ibermedia<\/strong>, una herramienta de cooperaci\u00f3n cinematogr\u00e1fica entre Espa\u00f1a y Am\u00e9rica Latina.<\/p>\n

Un homenaje a su trayectoria<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Mariela Besuievsky<\/strong>, productora y compa\u00f1era de Herrero desde hace 32 a\u00f1os, destac\u00f3 su b\u00fasqueda de un cine m\u00e1s internacional y diverso, con historias vinculadas con aspectos sociales e hist\u00f3ricos.<\/p>\n

En el homenaje tambi\u00e9n participaron el director Rodrigo Sorogoyen<\/strong>, el actor Antonio de la Torre<\/strong> y el escritor Lorenzo Silva<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Herrero prepara actualmente su estreno como director con \u201cCarta Blanca\u201d<\/strong>, adaptaci\u00f3n de la novela de Lorenzo Silva que obtuvo el Premio Primavera de Novela en 2004.<\/p>\n
