{"id":51402,"date":"2020-11-26T08:00:16","date_gmt":"2020-11-26T14:00:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/?p=51402"},"modified":"2020-11-26T10:47:13","modified_gmt":"2020-11-26T16:47:13","slug":"africa-espera-vacuna-contra-covid-19-para-segundo-trimestre-de-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/africa-espera-vacuna-contra-covid-19-para-segundo-trimestre-de-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00c1frica espera vacuna contra COVID-19 para segundo trimestre de 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ciudad de M\u00e9xico; 26 de noviembre de 2020 (AP).- En\u00a0\u00c1frica, las\u00a0vacunaciones contra el COVID-19 podr\u00edan no empezar hasta el\u00a0segundo trimestre del pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o, dijo el jueves el m\u00e1ximo responsable de salud p\u00fablica del continente, a\u00f1adiendo que ser\u00eda &#8216;extremadamente peligroso&#8217; que partes m\u00e1s desarrolladas del mundo se inmunicen y despu\u00e9s restrinjan los viajes exigiendo una prueba de vacunaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abHe visto c\u00f3mo se descuida a \u00c1frica cuando hay medicamentos disponibles\u00bb en el pasado, dijo el director de los Centros para el Control y Prevenci\u00f3n de Enfermedades (CDC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) del continente, John Nkengasong.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Y advirti\u00f3 que &#8216;est\u00e1 claro que la segunda ola (de contagios) est\u00e1 aqu\u00ed, en el continente\u00bbde 1.300 millones de habitantes.\u00a0\u00c1frica super\u00f3 la semana pasada los 2 millones de infecciones confirmadas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-51403 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Africa.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"598\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los CDC de \u00c1frica est\u00e1n &#8216;muy muy animados&#8217; por las prometedoras noticias de los resultados de los ensayos cl\u00ednicos de un pu\u00f1ado de vacunas contra el COVID-19, aunque el almacenamiento en fr\u00edo que necesitan algunas para su traslado ser\u00e1 un gran desaf\u00edo en la regi\u00f3n, apunt\u00f3 Nkengasong. El funcionario cit\u00f3 ese despliegue log\u00edstico en su predicci\u00f3n de cu\u00e1ndo comenzar\u00e1n las vacunaciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los CDC han estado discutiendo opciones de vacunaci\u00f3n con Rusia y China, entre otros, mientras trata de no quedarse atr\u00e1s en la carrera para obtener dosis. Seg\u00fan Nkengasong,\u00a0el continente necesitar\u00e1 alrededor de 1.500 millones de dosis, asumiendo que\u00a0habr\u00e1 que poner dos por persona, para alcanzar la cobertura del 60% necesaria para la inmunidad de grupo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abLo que no queremos para el continente es que el COVID se convierta en una enfermedad end\u00e9mica\u00bb, a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En un avance esperanzador, las autoridades han empezado a distribuir 2,7 millones de tests de ant\u00edgenos por toda la regi\u00f3n, algo que Nkengasong dijo podr\u00eda ser un cambio decisivo al permitir pruebas m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas y f\u00e1ciles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hasta el momento, en los 54 pa\u00edses del
