{"id":52905,"date":"2020-12-16T12:00:43","date_gmt":"2020-12-16T18:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/?p=52905"},"modified":"2020-12-17T09:48:09","modified_gmt":"2020-12-17T15:48:09","slug":"detectan-mas-de-30-mil-sismos-en-la-antartida-desde-agosto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/detectan-mas-de-30-mil-sismos-en-la-antartida-desde-agosto\/","title":{"rendered":"Detectan m\u00e1s de 30 mil sismos en la Ant\u00e1rtida desde agosto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chile; 16 de diciembre de 2020 (Reuters).- M\u00e1s de\u00a030 mil sismos\u00a0han ocurrido desde fines de agosto en la\u00a0pen\u00ednsula ant\u00e1rtica, un\u00a0comportamiento inusual\u00a0en el\u00a0continente blanco, seg\u00fan se\u00f1al\u00f3 un\u00a0informe\u00a0del\u00a0Centro Sismol\u00f3gico Nacional de Chile.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El\u00a0an\u00e1lisis\u00a0de los\u00a0movimientos\u00a0detectados en el\u00a0Estrecho de Bransfield, donde incluso se registr\u00f3\u00a0uno de magnitud 6, explic\u00f3 que en la zona hay\u00a0actividad\u00a0de\u00a0diversas placas tect\u00f3nicas\u00a0en un\u00a0\u00e1rea relativamente reducida.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abMediante t\u00e9cnicas de detecci\u00f3n autom\u00e1ticas se han podido identificar m\u00e1s de 30 mil eventos ocurridos durante tres meses desde fines de agosto. Corresponden a los sismos m\u00e1s conspicuos, o detectables, por lo que estudios m\u00e1s detallados podr\u00edan arrojar un n\u00famero incluso mayor\u00bb, dijo el organismo en una nota.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abLa mayor parte de la sismicidad se concentra al inicio de la secuencia, principalmente durante el mes de septiembre, con m\u00e1s de mil sismos diarios, comenzando a disminuir en el mes de noviembre\u00bb, detall\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-52906 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/reporteroshoy.mx\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Antartida.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La sismicidad se extiende de manera paralela al Estrecho de Bransfield a lo largo de unos 80 kil\u00f3metros en direcci\u00f3n noreste-suroeste centrada muy cerca del monte submarino Orca, dijeron los investigadores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La tendencia revel\u00f3 un cambio\u00a0en la velocidad de expansi\u00f3n del Estrecho de Bransfield ya que la separaci\u00f3n de la isla Rey Jorge de la Pen\u00ednsula Ant\u00e1rtica, aument\u00f3 dr\u00e1sticamente desde un valor de 8 mm\/a\u00f1o a 15 cm\/a\u00f1o a fines de agosto, seg\u00fan el informe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abLas observaciones geod\u00e9sicas confirman que la actividad s\u00edsmica ocurre como parte de este proceso de expansi\u00f3n acelerada\u00bb, afirm\u00f3 el
